(Orlando, Fla.)-CSOFT International, Inc., a leading provider of multilingual globalization services and language technology, announced from the Learning Solutions Conference & Expo today that its global social learning network TermWiki.com has reached two million terms. TermWiki allows businesses, educational institutions, research organizations, and government agencies to publish and manage terminology content that are critical for customers and target audiences to learn and understand important functions and features of the intended products and services.
“When we first launched TermWiki, we started with a small group of individuals that would input terms and translate them into different languages,” said Carl Yao, Executive Vice President of Global Strategy at CSOFT. “Today, TermWiki has grown to become a global knowledge–based social network where people from around the world collaborate, learn and share knowledge in a ‘Facebook meets Wikipedia’ kind of way.”
TermWiki was originally created as a web–based solution for businesses to manage their product terminologies and then translate them for global product deployment. “We soon realized,” continues Yao, “that the same technology platform could be used to create a global platform where businesses and organizations can systematically publish their own terminologies to connect with their customers in a social media fashion. It’s a Web 2.0 way to help customers learn about a company’s products and at the same time reduce customer support costs.”
CSOFT’s announcement of TermWiki reaching two million terms comes as the company showcases its e–learning localization capabilities at the Learning Solutions Conference & Expo in Orlando, Fla. Attended by more than 1,300 people, the conference focuses on identifying, deploying and managing proven technology–based learning solutions.
