Shunee Yee

Founder & CEO, CSOFT International

Shunee Yee is a globally recognized entrepreneur and visionary leader in language technology and cross-cultural communication. As the Founder and CEO of CSOFT International, she has spent over 25 years transforming the global language services industry. Under her leadership, CSOFT has become a premier provider of localization solutions for the life sciences sector, renowned for its innovation in regulatory, clinical, and multilingual communications.

Named one of Fortune’s “Top 10 Most Powerful Women Entrepreneurs” and one of CNN Money’s “Top 25 Innovation Disruptors,” Shunee is celebrated for her ability to scale businesses while driving digital transformation and cultural inclusion. She pioneered CSOFT’s linguistic validation automation technology, advancing compliance in multilingual clinical research and global regulatory submissions.

In line with her commitment to specialized innovation, Shunee recently launched Sesen.com, a new brand dedicated exclusively to translating for the life sciences. The brand empowers pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device, and healthcare organizations with highly specialized multilingual solutions.

Shunee's contributions extend beyond the business world. She completed an Executive Education program at Harvard Business School and shared intimate discussions with business icon Warren Buffett on leadership and global entrepreneurship. Passionate about education and public service, she worked with the White House on the Let Girls Learn initiative, supporting girls’ education worldwide.

Shunee currently serves on the Board of Directors at the Joslin Diabetes Center at Beth Israel Lahey Health and served as a trustee at Dexter Southfield School from 2020 to 2023. She has supported international engagement efforts at Johns Hopkins University and co-chaired the Taste of Ginger benefit for diabetes education in 2021 and 2022. In 2023, she was also selected as a judge for the prestigious Stevie Awards for Women in Business, evaluating nominees for the Women Entrepreneurs & Thought Leadership categories.

Diego Di Leva

Vice President, Global Operations & Strategic Partnership

Originally from Italy, Diego Di Leva is the VP of Global Language Resources. In this role, Diego leads teams responsible for executing end-to-end project management and supply chain strategy.

He joined CSOFT as an Italian QA Specialist/Translator, position that he covered for five years after which he has started to cover more managerial and operational roles. Prior to joining CSOFT, Diego worked as a Tech Consultant for two years at a leading global mobile company.

Paul Canton

Vice President, Data Security and Cloud Technology, Chief of Staff

Living in Canada, Paul Canton is the VP of Data Security & Information Management for CSOFT International. Paul is responsible for working directly with IT, Management and Sales to support business development and client services.

Though he started in Political Science at Saint Mary’s University, in 2003 he made the move to the life science localization industry. Paul has more than 15 years of experience working in the translation and localization industry.

Carl Yao

Executive Vice President, Strategic Business Development & General Manager, Stepes

Bringing more than 15 years of experience to his role at CSOFT, Carl Yao is responsible for the strategic planning and business development of CSOFT’s services, products, and technologies across North America, Asia, and Europe.

With the goal of leveraging and expanding CSOFT’s globalization solutions portfolio to optimize business outcomes and help customers extract greater value from CSOFT’s offerings, Carl plays a key role in the formulation and execution of long-term strategies.Prior to CSOFT, Carl was the principal architect for the development of the world’s first multilingual speech engine that used natural human voice to synthesize speech at the company he founded, YAOS Technologies. He also served as the CTO for Animation Technologies, based in Boston, Massachusetts.

Carl has a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics and Computer Science from Whitman College in Washington State and a Master’s degree in Computer Science from Brown University.

Michael majored in Portuguese and International Business and has almost 10 years of specific localization industry experience.  As a bilingual, localization has been a life pursuit and brings an understanding of how critical your global and international efforts are.

Vladimir (Vlado) Misik

VP Global Clinical Trial Strategy at CSOFT Health Sciences

Vladimir (Vlado) Misik brings more than 30 years of biomedical R&D experience into his role of VP Global Clinical Trial Strategy at CSOFT Health Sciences.

After his MSc degree physics and biophysics, and a PhD in biophysics and pharmacology, he worked as a several years as a research scientist in the fields of cardiology, at the School of Medicine at the George Washington University, and oncology, at the National Cancer Institute at the NIH in Bethesda. After his biomedical research scientist tenure, he moved into biopharma product development, including 15+ years at Quintiles/IQVIA in various senior executive roles including VP & Head of Central and Eastern Europe and MENA, and VP of Global Delivery Network. He also served as an executive board member and a CEO at SanaClis, a global full-service specialty CRO. He is a founder/ co-founder of two companies providing services to the clinical research industry: LongTaal, proprietary clinical trials informatics platform, and of VIARES, a clinical research talent organization.

Vlado in an author of > 60 research articles and book chapters in peer-reviewed journals: his current research focus are global geographic trends in industry clinical trials. He serves as an editorial board member at Applied Clinical Research, Clinical Trials, and Regulatory Affairs journal, and is a member of the DIA Core Committee for Clinical Research.

Sydney Lacavalla

HR Manager, North America

With nearly five years of experience in Human Resources, Sydney manages HR for CSOFT’s North America operations. Sydney received a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Business Administration from the University of New Hampshire. She holds a SHRM-CP certification and is a member of the Society of Human Resources Management.
